Street Football Wales Outline Strategy

Street Football Wales Strategy 2025-2027

Vision

Our vision is of a fair and inclusive Wales where everyone can achieve their full potential through the transformative power of football.

Mission

Our mission is to create safe and welcoming spaces where everyone can experience the joy of football. We believe in the power of the game to bring fun and fulfilment to all, regardless of background or ability. Through football, we promote personal growth and the development of healthy, inclusive communities where every individual matters and is valued.

Values

Unity: We are one team, united by a shared purpose where everyone matters and every voice is valued.

Respect: We act with mutual respect, empathy, and compassion, ensuring that no one is judged and everyone is heard.

Inclusion: We welcome all, strive to remove barriers so that everyone can participate and feel valued.

Empowerment: We hold our football community at the heart of everything that we do, putting our players’ needs first, hearing their voices and enabling them to reach their full potential.

Consistency: We provide stability and reliability in people’s lives through our delivery and offer a consistent approach across Wales.

Integrity: We operate with honesty and transparency and pledge to follow through on our commitments.

Purpose

At Street Football Wales, we are dedicated to using football as a vehicle for social inclusion, providing opportunities for anyone experiencing social isolation. We create an open, inclusive, and safe environment where people can play football, make friends, build self-confidence and embark on their own unique personal journeys. Our activities are accessible, free, and offer flexible attendance with a wide range of opportunities for involvement.

By building a community around football, we aim to bring people together and develop positive, supportive communities across Wales. Our community includes players, coaches, referees, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, and followers - all united by a shared commitment to making a difference.

We recognise that everyone’s journey is unique, which is why we place our community at the heart of our organisation, shaping our services around their needs. We provide a space where people can be part of something positive, communal and fun, offering consistency and support amid life’s challenges and uncertainties.

Our Impact & Outcomes
We collaborate with and advocate for socially excluded individuals in Wales. Through our efforts, we achieve a variety of positive outcomes for participants, including:

  2. Improved Health and Wellbeing: Promote better physical and mental health through active participation and support.

  3. Personal Growth: Encourage ambition, confidence, self-belief and a sense of achievement in participants.

  4. Enhanced Lifestyle: Provide greater access to opportunities such as training, volunteering and employment, leading to an improved quality of life.

  5. Sustained Engagement: Increase ongoing participation with services to ensure consistent access to needed resources.

  6. Reduction in Substance Misuse: Support participants in achieving higher cessation rates of substance misuse.

Measuring Change

We are dedicated to collecting and analysing evidence of our impact to reflect on our progress and inform our annual delivery priorities.

Alongside our internal monitoring methods, we will consult with and gather evidence of progress from our footballing community, seek input from our stakeholders and the network of services in Wales.

This evidence will be used to measure our progress against our intended impact, outcomes and strategic goals. We commit to publishing these findings in an annual impact statement to ensure openness and transparency with our community.
